  1. Oh valentines day I think is a nice day for the young and I would always send my son a card just in case he never knew it was from his mum but it always put a skip in his step that day. I do however think that companies do cash in on it a little too much. I think the little things can make valentines day

  2. I like Valentine's Day! Of course Hallmark has a stranglehold on it! But my anniversary is just a few days later, and that's mostly what we celebrate. This year is 40!!

  3. Valentine's is okay. I enjoy watching my students' exchange cards, and I like the excuse to get to exchange presents with my hubby! I love presents!

  4. I'm ok with Valentine's Day. It's the whole commercial thing I don't care for. We have decided this year since our kids are older that we would go and do something fun together instead of wasting money on things that don't build memories for our family.
I am following you. Love your blog.

  5. I like Valentine's Day. I made a non-traditional color Valentine tag for my daughter who likes green using a jar die & a heart punch so the jar is filled with conversation hearts. I use to work for Hallmark and it was our 2nd biggest sale time of the yr with Christmas being the 1st.

  11. Oh I love Valentines! Most holidays are all about my kids and I love that. But Valentines is just for hubby and me. Its nice to go somewhere for the day and just reconnect. We do not go all out, we may just spend the day riding around and ending with a nice dinner. But it is just us time and that is hard to find now with everyday life.

  13. I too am at your blog today for the 1st time, I hopped from another blog. What beautiful work you do! I can understand people discussing Valentines Day as a Hallmark holiday. However after looking at darling Valentines cards for the last 1-2 months, these are the homemade cards, I can't help but become sentimental. Our society doesn't do cards very much anymore so when I give or get a card it is even more special. Reminds me of a rubber stamped sentiment I've seen recently about Valentine's being for suckers like me! I don't mind being that sucker.
