Happy New Year with Pixie Dust Studio!

WOOHOO!!  Time to celebrate with Pixie Dust Studio.  This week is challenge #55 and you need to create with  the colors gold and silver and to incorporate a Happy New Year theme.  We have some awesome Pixie Dust Design Team eye candy waiting for you on the challenge blog.

I used the famous owl from the Harry Potter collection, Critters.  These little guys are too cute and they come in this 3 pack for $2.00.  The entire collection is made up of 4 famous wizards and these critters. You can see them and a ton of other marvelous digital stamps at the Pixie Dust Studio store.

Creating my owl was really easy.  After printing him I colored his body using Copic Ice Ocean, BG72.  Then I covered him with a thick layer of Art Glitter glue and sprinkled Martha Stewart fine crystal glitter on it and let it dry.  It's hard to tell with the photo but he ended up with a hard glittery finish with a little bit of dimension from his white chest.  I really liked the results.
